“The Real Housewives of New York City” star Erin Lichy is setting the record straight after her co-stars questioned her finances and suggested there might be more to the flooding of her Hamptons home.

During the October 6 episode of RHONY, Erin learned that Jessel Taank and Erika Hammond had discussed whether the damage to her home was connected to an insurance claim.

The conversation left Erin furious, especially as rumors about her family’s finances continued circulating among the cast.

On “The Real Housewives of New York City After Show,” Erin denied that she and her husband, Abe Lichy, were experiencing financial difficulties.

When Carole Radziwill joked that Erin “owes the whole city money,” the mother of four pushed back.

“I’m doing a lot of brand deals, so… I paid him off, so whatever,” Erin said, referring to a legal dispute involving a former manager.

She also questioned why Jessel was discussing her finances.

“Where does she get off talking about my finances?” Erin asked. “I pay for my kids’ school; I pay for rent… We know what my husband does.”

Abe is an attorney and managing partner of The Advisory, a network of independently owned law firms he founded in 2024.

Erin Lichy Confronts Jessel Taank Over ‘Insurance Thing’ Comments

The drama began when Daisy Toye told Erin that Jessel and Erika were suggesting she had money problems.

Daisy also revealed that the women had questioned whether the flooding of Erin’s Hamptons property was connected to insurance.

During a group dinner on Moskito Island, Erin confronted the women about their comments.

Erika acknowledged that they had discussed whether the situation could be a “scam.”

Jessel offered a different explanation.

“I didn’t say it was a scam; I said it’s an insurance thing,” Jessel clarified.

Erin explained why the speculation hurt so much.

“I was really hurt when I heard that you were talking about my house. I lost my (expletive) house. Do you understand? You don’t own a house. Maybe you don’t understand. I worked my ass off to buy that house, and I renovated the whole thing. And I lost all my memories. Like, that’s very painful, for you to just say it flippantly.”

Jessel later acknowledged that her comments were inappropriate.

On the RHONY “After Show,” she described the remark as “a senseless joke.”

“I obviously apologize and regret that I said that,” Jessel added.

The RHONY Star Reveals What’s Really Happening With Her Hamptons Home

Erin also addressed the ongoing repairs to her property, which suffered extensive damage after a pipe broke.

She revealed that she is currently “living upstairs in the guest room” while work continues on the lower level.

“What sucks about it is my insurance didn’t cover, like, relocation or my items. So, that’s hard,” she explained. “I’ve learned to become very zen about it. It is what it is.”

The reality star also recently responded to speculation about who owns the Hamptons property.

After an Instagram user asked whether her mother-in-law owned the home, Erin explained the family’s financing arrangement.

“Have people never heard of parents helping their children secure financing? Is this a novel concept?” she wrote.

“Abe and I purchased our first home under his parents’ name to get a mortgage, and then we did a 1031 tax exchange to purchase our Hamptons property, and we could not swap the name [because] of that. Hopefully that helps clarify.”

Outside of the RHONY drama, Erin has also been reevaluating her professional commitments.

The entrepreneur, who has worked in real estate and owns Erin’s Studio, launched the mezcal brand Mezcalum with Abe in 2024.

The couple also hosts the podcast “Come Together with Erin + Abe Lichy,” which has become one of her primary professional focuses.

Erin recently told Bravo Insider that she needed to reduce her workload after juggling several responsibilities.

“I really had to take a step back from work because it was too much and I was just running myself into the ground and just having a lot of (expletive) happening, moving, it was just too much,” she explained.

“So, I’m just building a future, and I’m not quite sure exactly what it is. I feel like it’s kind of nice to take a minute and see. … I’m trying to figure it out.”
