“Southern Charm” star Molly O’Connell is single again, but her love life is about to become a major storyline when season 12 premieres.
Molly recently confirmed to Bravo Insider that she and her boyfriend have broken up. The Charleston singer previously dated an older musician who performed in her band.
“I’m newly single, so I don’t really know what to say,” Molly told the outlet when asked about her romantic life.
She also described her current dating situation as “non-existent.”
However, the season 12 trailer suggests things might get complicated between Molly and fellow cast member Austen Kroll.
In one scene, Austen tells Craig Conover, “I went home with Molly last night.”
The confession appears to create tension with Salley Carson, who has had an on-again, off-again relationship with Austen.
“The fact you went home with Austen is (expletive) crazy,” Salley tells Molly in the trailer.
Molly fires back, “Listen, y’all are not dating.”
Despite the teaser, neither Molly nor Austen has confirmed they are currently in a relationship.
Molly’s Breakup Comes After Her Relationship With an Older Musician
Before her latest relationship ended, Molly had spoken openly about dating a musician nearly two decades older than her.
During the season 11 reunion, she shared details about her then-boyfriend.
“He’s a musician in Charleston,” Molly explained. “He’s extremely talented…He’s 56, and I’m 38. I like a little seasoning.”
The relationship was one of several romantic connections Molly has discussed since joining “Southern Charm.”
She previously revealed that she had exchanged intimate messages with Craig and had a romantic encounter with Shep Rose.
Molly and Shep shared a kiss during the season 10 finale, although they later decided they were “better off as friends.”
During season 11, Molly also grew close to Whitner Slagsvol and brought him as her date to the finale.
However, she clarified their relationship in a March 11 Instagram post.
Molly wrote that the two are “not dating,” adding that “he’s my bestieeeee.”
‘Southern Charm’ Season 12 Teases More Trouble for Molly O’Connell
According to Bravo’s official season 12 cast announcement, Molly’s romantic situation will affect her relationships within the group.
“After a surprising romantic turn, her status within the group is tested and her allies seem to be caught up in their own scandal,” the network teased.
Molly will also focus on her music career during the upcoming season.
Bravo revealed that she is expanding her creative work by trying songwriting and playing the guitar.
Between her recent breakup, her history with several cast members and the trailer’s Austen confession, Molly’s relationships will be part of the new season’s storyline.
