Heather Gay is entering a whole new relationship era — and things with boyfriend Tripp have already gotten serious.
Ahead of season 7 of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” Heather opened up to Bravo Insider about the romance and initially suggested she might be falling for him. She quickly corrected herself.
“I might be falling in love,” Heather said. “Actually, it’s past tense. I’ve fallen in love. It makes me emotional.”
The relationship is especially significant for Heather, who has said Tripp is the first person she has truly considered a boyfriend.
Heather Gay and Tripp Have Known Each Other for Years
Although the romance is relatively new, Heather and Tripp are far from strangers. The couple began dating in December 2025 after already having a long history together.
“We’ve known each other for a decade,” Heather revealed.
They kept the relationship relatively private before Heather confirmed she was dating Tripp following the season 7 announcement in August. The couple then stepped out together publicly at a pre-Emmys party in West Hollywood on Sept. 13.
Tripp is also making his RHOSLC debut during season 7, bringing viewers into Heather’s first serious relationship since joining the show.
Heather’s New Relationship Comes With One Big Boundary
Heather’s romance with Tripp comes more than a decade after her 2015 divorce from ex-husband Frank William “Billy” Gay III.
Her Mormon upbringing meant she went directly into marriage without much traditional dating experience. After her divorce, Heather dated casually but said she never entered another serious relationship until Tripp.
That doesn’t necessarily mean she’s ready to head back down the aisle. In the season 7 trailer, Heather opened up about tying the knot in the future.
“I’m never getting married again,” she told Tripp, before asking him, “Do you worry it’ll affect our relationship?” The trailer cut before we got his answer.
For now, however, Heather appears happy to be reaching a relationship milestone she hadn’t expected.
