Shai Fruchter is warning “Next Gen NYC” fans to prepare for an intense season 2 reunion.
The fashion designer joined his castmates in New York City on July 30 to film the reunion, and he admitted the experience was far more overwhelming than he expected.
“It was terrifying,” Shai told Bravo Insider in August. “It was crazy and uncomfortable. And it was a lot. And I felt kind of overwhelmed at some points.”
While Shai said several familiar issues from season 2 will resurface, he teased that the cast also reached some resolutions — and revealed information viewers might not see coming.
“I think what won’t surprise [viewers] is a lot of the same come up, but what will surprise [viewers] is there are some resolutions and you do get to hear a lot of truths that you weren’t really expecting,” he said.
Shai Fruchter Left the ‘Next Gen NYC’ Reunion Wishing He Said More
Despite describing the reunion as “a lot,” Shai apparently still walked away wishing he had spoken up more.
During an August 18 appearance on “The Viall Files,” Shai admitted he had some regrets about how he handled the day.
“I tried to leave it all in the paint and I left feeling like I should have said more, honestly,” he said.
One subject he wishes he had addressed more directly is criticism that he tries to remain friendly with everyone in the group.
Shai said he has heard the phrase “a friend to all is a friend to none” from castmates, viewers and even reunion host Andy Cohen.
He strongly disagrees.
“And I think that’s absolutely bulls—t,” Shai said. “I think that you should be kind of nice to everyone. And if you’re not going to, then you’re doing something wrong. And if people take that and interpret that as you being two-faced, then that’s their problem, right?”
Shai Reveals Where He Stands With Ariana Biermann and the Cast
Whatever happened during the reunion apparently hasn’t stopped Shai from getting closer to several of his “Next Gen NYC” co-stars.
“Since we’ve wrapped the season, a lot of my friendships have gone a lot deeper in many different ways,” he explained.
That includes his friendship with Ariana Biermann.
“Ariana and I are really close,” Shai said. “I will sing her praises all the time and I have her back as much as she needs. We’ve been supporting each other in many ways for a long time now and she’s wonderful.”
And Ariana isn’t the only cast member Shai remains close with after filming.
“A couple other people in the cast, too. Ava [Dash] and I are really close, Charlie [Zakkour] and I are really close,” he said. “Even Liam [Obergfoll] and I have been hanging out quite a bit.”
