Shannon Beador is having a lighter season on RHOC, but that doesn’t mean everything is completely settled with Tamra Judge.

During an August 10 interview with Extra TV, Shannon opened up about season 20 of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” and admitted her friendship with Tamra can still be an “exhausting journey.”

“Just when you think things are good, then you wonder if they are,” Shannon said. “It’s just kind of an exhausting journey. But I’m in a place right now where I can be with her, and I can have fun.”

That’s a major improvement from last year, and Shannon revealed Vicki Gunvalson helped the former friends reach a better place.

Shannon and Tamra previously clashed as Tamra criticized her former friend over her DUI and drinking.

With Vicki caught between the two women, Shannon eventually decided she didn’t want to put her longtime friend in that position.

“I didn’t want Vicki to be in the middle. That’s a very awkward position to be … so I was willing to brush everything under the rug and keep going,” she explained.

Despite her complicated relationship with Tamra, Shannon described season 20 as much lighter than the previous two seasons.

“I had a lot of fun,” she said. “I think that for the first time in a while, everyone truly does get along. Everyone respects each other, so that’s really nice.”

The RHOC Vet Teases Heather Dubrow ‘Hiccup’

Tamra isn’t the only cast member Shannon has some drama with this season.

Although Shannon said she and Heather Dubrow are currently in a good place, she confirmed they hit a bump while filming.

“It’s coming … I look a little bit wacky,” Shannon teased.

She also hinted that viewers haven’t seen the last of her issues with Vicki, responding, “Oh, it’s coming,” when asked about upcoming tension.

Newbie Carmella Garcia is also making an impression. Shannon recalled being shocked when Carmella told Vicki that “everyone has an expiration date.”

“She was sitting in between [me and Heather], and you see our mouths drop,” Shannon said.

Shannon nevertheless had plenty of praise for Carmella, calling her an “amazing” addition.

“She already has iconic lines. She’s really doing a good job. She’s a spitfire,” Shannon said.

“The Real Housewives of Orange County” season 20 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
