Melissa Gorga shares more details about her emotional apology to Teresa Giudice, including why she chose to address their years-long family feud during the finale of “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th.”
The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” sisters-in-law have been at odds for years, but their relationship took a positive turn when they reconciled ahead of BravoCon 2025. Now, Melissa explains what motivated her to apologize during the RHUGT finale.
Speaking with Us Weekly at an October 10 event in Los Angeles, Melissa made it clear that she has no problem admitting when she may have hurt someone.
“I don’t believe in holding things in. I’ll always apologize. I’m a happy person,” Melissa said. “I always want to move on. I’m happy to give an apology for anything that might have hurt someone.”
Melissa Gorga Reveals More About Her Emotional Apology to Teresa Giudice
Melissa’s apology aired during the October 4 finale of “RHUGT: Roaring 20th,” when she addressed the controversy surrounding her decision to join RHONJ in season 3.
During episode 9, Melissa apologized to Teresa in front of Andy Cohen for the problems her arrival on the show caused their family.
“You were here first, and I will never not say that to you,” Melissa told Teresa.
Although Melissa maintained that she had informed Teresa about her audition, Teresa disputed that claim during a confessional.
“I would never want to be on a show with my family. I’ve gone through a lot with my family being on the show,” Teresa said.
Melissa told Us Weekly that viewers didn’t see everything discussed at the party, but she was glad her apology made the final cut.
“I’m happy that everyone saw me apologize because I feel like it takes a strong person to admit when they’re wrong and to move forward, and I’m so happy to do that for my family,” Melissa explained. “I love our family, and I want us to stay together for a really long time.”
RHONJ Star Says Teresa Giudice Has Apologized Too
Looking back on her decision to join RHONJ, Melissa insisted she never meant to create problems for Teresa or their family.
“In my mind, I was taking an opportunity that was offered to me, and I had no ill will. But you never know how other people are going to take it,” she told the outlet.
Melissa acknowledged that the situation quickly became difficult, particularly as the family’s disagreements played out on television.
“It was a battle back then. It didn’t pan out very nicely, you know. So I was apologizing for just anything that could have caused any hurt, and she’s definitely apologized too. It goes both ways.”
With their reconciliation behind them, Melissa is looking forward to a fresh start on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”
Melissa, Teresa, and Dolores Catania are returning for season 15, which will also introduce several new faces.
“I am so psyched about this season,” Melissa said. “The new girls are amazing. A lot of new faces. There’s a lot of emotions, a lot of drama, and a lot of crying.”
As Bravo and Cocktails previously reported, season 15 of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” premieres in December on Bravo.

Happy to give an apology after 17 yrs of not giving an apology 😭
I agree with Meg. Why did it take over a decade to apologize, unless your actual livelihood was on the line. I’m glad it happened. I love Joe’s personality. I wanted those to to reconcile forever and I’m so glad they did. It almost sounds like Melissa drove the audition,Joe came along for the ride and ended up in my eyes the real star
