Dorinda Medley almost lost her cool with Jessel Taank after she questioned her Lady Gaga costume on “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.”

Dorinda talked about the awkward Halloween party exchange during Tuesday’s episode of her “Reality Checked” podcast with Kiki Monique. She said Chanel Ayan grabbed her hand as she became increasingly frustrated with Jessel. Instead of letting the argument go any further, Dorinda decided it was better to walk away.

“I am gonna just decimate this person,” Dorinda recalled thinking at the time.

Dorinda Fires Back After Jessel Calls Her Lady Gaga Costume a Repeat Outfit

The disagreement started when Jessel questioned Dorinda’s Lady Gaga-inspired bubble dress. Dorinda explained the meaning behind the costume, but Jessel focused on the fact that she had worn it before.

“So, you’re wearing a repeat outfit,” Jessel remarked.

Dorinda corrected her, explaining that she was wearing a costume, not an everyday outfit.

Kiki was equally surprised that Jessel didn’t recognize the look, particularly since the women were celebrating 20 years of the “Real Housewives” franchise.

Dorinda initially gave Jessel a pass for not recognizing her costume. However, she thought her fellow Housewife should have understood its significance once she explained it.

“You didn’t recognize it? Okay, not good,” Dorinda said. “We’re on our franchise, we kind of should be recognizing iconic things.”

Instead, Jessel’s confusion continued, leaving Dorinda increasingly frustrated. Fortunately, Chanel intervened before Dorinda said anything she might regret.

Dorinda Says Jessel Needs to Do Her Research on the Original Housewives

Dorinda was even more annoyed when she watched the episode and discovered Jessel had continued discussing her costume after she walked away.

Kiki questioned Jessel’s reasoning that she works in fashion and doesn’t believe in repeating outfits. Dorinda disagreed, pointing out that she regularly wears the same clothes more than once.

Kiki also wondered whether Jessel had deliberately gone after one of the franchise’s longtime stars to create a memorable television moment. Dorinda dismissed the idea, comparing the situation to someone throwing a ball of yarn to a lion.

Dorinda had plenty more she wanted to tell Jessel, particularly about appearing on a show celebrating 20 years of “The Real Housewives” without recognizing some of its most memorable moments. She suggested Jessel research the franchise’s history and use more imagination when choosing her own costumes.

For Dorinda, the disagreement wasn’t simply about repeating an outfit. “I think that there should be… a level of respect for the original,” she said.
