NeNe Leakes Addresses Marrying Boyfriend Nyonisela Sioh After 4 Years

NeNe Leakes is opening up about her boyfriend, Nyonisela Sioh — including whether another wedding could be in her future.

NeNe introduced Nyonisela to several familiar Housewives during her vulnerable cameo “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th,” and revealed that their relationship has lasted about four years.

“We’ve been dating about four years. Off and on,” NeNe told the group.

Nyonisela joined NeNe at Porsha Williams’ drag brunch, where he met Housewives including Vicki Gunvalson, Luann de Lesseps and Teresa Giudice.

The Atlanta alum has generally kept the romance relatively private, but her return to Bravo gave viewers a rare look at the man she has been dating since shortly after the death of her late husband, Gregg Leakes.

Nyonisela has his own career in fashion.

He is an international fashion designer and CEO of Nyoni Couture, which specializes in high-end bespoke men’s fashion, custom suits and accessories.

According to the company’s website, Nyonisela was born in Monrovia, Liberia, and his designs blend his African heritage with Western influences.

NeNe first publicly confirmed their relationship in December 2021. During RHUGT, she made it clear that she still believes in marriage, although she no longer considers it something she has to do.

“I don’t have to get married again. I love love, and I would love to get married to the right person,” NeNe said. “I want to be treated like the wife, but I don’t have to be the wife.”

NeNe did not announce an engagement or any concrete wedding plans during the episode, leaving her future with Nyonisela open-ended, at least for now.

Gregg Leakes Encouraged NeNe to Find Happiness Again

NeNe’s willingness to find love again came with Gregg’s blessing.

The couple had been together for 25 years when Gregg died at age 66 in September 2021 following a four-year battle with colon cancer. Their long relationship included a divorce in 2011 before they remarried two years later in 2013.

“The last five days before his passing were really beautiful,” she told People shortly after his passing. “All of his children were there. His best friends were there. Our closest friends were there. We all sat with him around the clock. We talked a lot, and we made peace with what was happening.”

Gregg also left NeNe with words about what he hoped would come next for her.

“I’m not going to leave you. God is going to bless you,” Gregg told her.

“He said he wanted me to move on with my life,” NeNe recalled.

Five years later, NeNe appears open to whatever comes next. She has Nyonisela by her side, but she isn’t putting a wedding at the center of what their future together looks like.
