Danny Booko and Nia Sanchez are saying goodbye to “The Valley” after three seasons, but a new report is raising questions about exactly how the decision was made.
Danny, 42, and Nia, 36, announced their departure in a joint Instagram statement on September 1, telling fans that they will not return to the Bravo reality series.
“We wanted to share a quick update that we will not be returning to ‘The Valley,’” the couple wrote. “We’re incredibly grateful for this experience but our priority is protecting our peace and our family.”
They continued, “We are fully committed to each other and our beautiful children. We want to thank everyone for all the love and support you’ve shown us. Thank you to Bravo and the team for everything. We are looking forward to what the next chapter brings. 🤍”
They signed the statement, “with so much love, Danny + Nia.”
While their announcement framed the exit around their family and future, a new report suggests there may be more to the story.
Insider Claims Producers Had Concerns About Danny and Nia’s ‘The Valley’ Dynamic
Following Danny and Nia’s announcement, Us Weekly reported that a source offered additional insight into why the couple will not be back.
According to the insider, Bravo producers “felt their relationship and dynamic with the cast was not as organic as other couples.”
That wording certainly leaves some room for interpretation. Danny and Nia did not say in their statement that Bravo had asked them back or that they independently decided to leave an offer on the table. Bravo also has not publicly commented on their departure.
Their exit follows a particularly difficult season for the couple.
Danny’s drinking became a major storyline, as did tension between Danny and Nia and concerns from other cast members about how he treated his wife.
Danny eventually addressed his behavior publicly.
Danny Booko Apologized to Nia Sanchez During Difficult Season
In May, Danny posted an emotional apology to Nia after watching some of his behavior play out on “The Valley.”
“Watching these last few episodes back hasn’t been easy,” Danny wrote. “It was a difficult season of life and a version of myself that I’m embarrassed by and not proud of. A short fuse, stress, alcohol, and lack of sleep are never a good combination, but that’s not an excuse. I should never have taken any of it out on you.”
Danny said that “balancing parenthood and life can stretch you in ways you don’t fully realize until you see yourself through a different lens.”
“I love, honor, and respect you deeply,” he added, “and I did not show that in some of these moments.”
Danny ended his message by making his feelings about Nia and their family clear.
“Nia, I love you so much,” he wrote. “I’m grateful for you, our family, and this beautiful, chaotic life we’ve built together. I thank God for you every day.”
Bravo and Cocktails have yet to confirm whether “The Valley” has officially been confirmed for season 4, or whether more cast shake-ups are coming. Stay tuned….
