RHOC Star Vicki Gunvalson’s Son Michael Wolfsmith Shares Sad Truth About Briana Culberson Rift

Vicki Gunvalson’s son, Michael Wolfsmith, is shedding more light on his relationship with his sister, Briana Culberson, after revealing on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” that they haven’t seen each other in 8 years.

The surprising family update aired during the July 30 episode, prompting fans to ask what led to such a long stretch without seeing one another. Michael later answered those questions in the comments section of his Instagram post, explaining that distance, timing and family circumstances have all played a role.

Michael Wolfsmith Explains Why He Hasn’t Seen Briana Culberson in Eight Years

During the episode, Vicki and Michael discussed his life in Spain, where he now lives while continuing to work remotely for Coto Insurance.

“I like it. Everything’s open late. You can eat til 2 in the morning. Clubs are open late,” Michael said of his new home.

Vicki shared that her relationship with Michael has grown stronger over the years.

“Michael has become a world traveler and works for Coto Insurance remotely. He runs my life insurance division,” she said in a confessional. “My relationship with Michael actually has gotten better. I think he appreciates me more now, knowing all that I’ve done through Michael and Briana’s life to get them to the place they’re at.”

Later in the conversation, Michael revealed he and Briana have not been together in person for years.

“I haven’t seen Briana since, like, eight years. I may have met two of her [four] kids,” he said.

Vicki admitted the distance has been difficult.

“It absolutely [sucked] that [my] kids live far away,” she said. “Mike’s in Spain. Briana lives in Oklahoma. They talk all the time. They FaceTime. But it’s definitely better to be in person.”

Michael Says He’d Like to See Briana in Person

After the episode preview was posted on Instagram, fans questioned why the siblings had gone so long without seeing one another.

When one follower encouraged him to visit Briana, Michael explained that it hasn’t been that simple.

“I’ve never been invited out there, and she doesn’t visit [California],” he wrote. “I was living in Hawaii and now Spain.”

Michael also claimed that he previously tried to arrange a visit while he was closer to Oklahoma.

“A couple years ago I said I wanted to visit when I was fairly close to Oklahoma, and she said it wasn’t a good time because of her husband who I don’t get along with very well,” he wrote, referring to Ryan Culberson.

Despite the lack of in-person visits, Michael said he and Briana continue to stay in touch.

“Ya we are in a group chat with my mom and have friendly personal convos,” he shared. “I would prefer if we could see each other in person! We were sending each other pugs we want a couple days ago.”
