MomTok isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Hulu has reportedly ordered 20 more episodes of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” and cameras are already rolling on the next chapter of the hit reality series.
The massive episode order is expected to cover what will essentially become seasons 6 and 7, although Hulu has not confirmed exactly how the 20 episodes will be divided.
The news comes with another surprise: season 5 will be much shorter than usual.
‘Mormon Wives’ Season 5 Will Have Just 5 Episodes
Deadline reported that season 5 will consist of only 5 episodes, down from the 10 episodes fans have received in previous seasons.
Production was interrupted earlier this year amid investigations involving Taylor Frankie Paul. Domestic charges against Taylor were ultimately dropped, but the situation also resulted in ABC pulling her planned season of “The Bachelorette.”
And fans shouldn’t expect “Mormon Wives” to avoid what happened.
Layla Taylor previously told Disney’s “Get Real” podcast that the events will factor into season 5, describing the upcoming episodes as a “dark” chapter for the group.
“It’s no secret that MomTok has been going through some drama this year,” Layla said. “It was the start of the blow up, it was definitely a darker season but a necessary one to understand where everyone’s at.”
Season 5 is expected to arrive later in 2026.
Cameras Are Already Rolling on 20 More Episodes
Whatever happens during those five episodes won’t be the end of the story.
Production is already underway on the next 20 episodes, which Deadline reports will likely be divided between seasons 6 and 7. Whether that means two traditional 10-episode seasons remains to be seen.
Hulu has also not officially announced the complete returning cast.
Layla confirmed she’s filming and admitted that life with cameras rolling has become something she’s grown accustomed to.
“We’re filming Season 6 now. I am exhausted… we have this battle that all of the girls talk about,” she said. “When we’re not filming, I miss it and, honestly, I get kind of bored and so much happens conveniently when the cameras go down so it’s like at this point, let’s just film the whole year.”
Jessi Draper, Jen Affleck, Miranda Hope, Mikayla Matthews and Mayci Neeley are among the other familiar faces associated with the series. Whitney Leavitt previously revealed that season 5 would be her final season.
As for whether MomTok might get a little break from the heavier drama next season, Layla isn’t making any promises.
“Fingers crossed,” she said when asked whether season 6 would be lighter. “There’s obviously always going to be drama with a group of women. I would like for it to feel a bit more joyful.”

I fear we’re gonna get two rushed, back to back seasons that’ll be outdated/irrelevant before they air. I didn’t finish season 4. I don’t miss it. It got way too dark and it’s excessively immature for me.
